What made you choose Port Kembla Golf Club for your special day?
Port Kembla Golf Club was an easy decision for Bryan and I. We wanted a venue that could host both the ceremony and reception. The packages that the golf club offered, together with the brilliant assistance of Lisa the Events Manager, made life easy for us, we didn’t need to chase up an MC, DJ, source caterers etc
Did you have a particular theme for your wedding?
Our theme was rustic romance. The tables featured centre pieces of sliced timber with an array of mason jars filled with soft coloured roses and baby’s breath. We had a beautiful two tier wedding cake which sat on a lovely stump of wood. The ceilings featured chiffon fabric filled with fairy lights which enhanced the rustic romance theme. I am very fortunate to have a father that has a passion for wood turning, he helped transformed my vision/theme into reality.
How did you meet?
Bryan and I first met when we were 16. He was at my house with his friend Kris (who was our best man). He and Kris were visiting my brother and inspecting his latest fish in his tank. I had never seen Bryan before that moment, and I was smitten. And now 13 years later we are married.
What are you most looking forward to on your wedding day?
Seeing Bryan waiting for me at the end of the aisle. I didn’t anticipate it being such an emotional moment. I can’t remember much from the ceremony, all I can remember is looking into Bryan’s eyes, with a big goofy smile on my face and holding back the tears.
Lucky we had a wonderful photographer to catch the ceremony because I didn’t take in anything other than Bryan.
What did you enjoy most about your wedding day and the venue?
Bryan and I couldn’t have asked for a better wedding. Everything was wonderful, better than we could have possibly imagined.
I was 7 months pregnant on the day of our wedding, and very much loved how relaxed the wedding was. Everything was organised and I didn’t have to worry about a thing. All Bryan and I had to do was enjoy ourselves and have good time with our guests.
